any tips on bringing down the temps on one of these, either by tweaking the stock cooler, or anyone modified any other coolers to fit a gtx280

cheers

Apparently Arctic Cooling are planning to release an Accelero Xtreme for the GTX 280, I don't have a source on that, though. Sorry.

In the mean time, in addition to what anant_shah94 suggested, try removing a PCI plate or two to get some more air circulation, if the airflow in your case isn't too good, try taking the side off to see how much difference that makes then tidy up the cables and see if you can get some better airflow in there. If you haven't already put cable ties to use, you should, they're great things. :D

The GTX 280 should be running up to a max of 75-80 degrees C under load so you only really need to worry if it's hitting 90+.

dont know what temps yet, i'm anticipating it being high when i put the card in today, anyone reseated the stock cooler with AS5?
