I've just checked my DVI cable and its a 19pin, would i benefit anything from a DVI-D (20pin?) cable? Plus is my graphics card able to use that?
 
I think you have confused yourself?

There's 4 types of DVI connectors, neither have 20 pins? Your current one seems to be the DVI-D variant, which is the one you should be using, depending on your monitor.

Does it have two sets of nine pins, and a solitary flat blade?
 
The dual link ones are usually used for the extreme resolutions / refresh rates.
DVI-D, the one you're using now is probably fine, what resolution / display mode are you running?
