GTX280 or upgrade to 4870 x2

Hi all, is it worth me upgrading to a 4870 x 2 or keeping my gtx280

I went the other way, from a 4870X2 to the 280. Didn't notice much of a drop.

What games do you play and what res?

I went gtx280 -> 4870x2 -> gtx280

Stick with what you got

Keep the GTX280, there are very few games that you will require a X2 for even at 1920*1200 and even in those titles it's not like there unplayable, you simply can't enable as much, for 1680*1050 it's just a waste.

Same as others on here, I went 4870 in crossfire to a gtx280.

well one HD 4870 beats 280 GTX, dont blame me he had a i7 and ddr 3 ram with 280 i had core 2 and ddr 2 ram with 1 hd 4870 i won

@ crysis warhead max settings on benchmark tool.

HD 4870 X2 will oblivate the 280 tbh, catalyst rapid improveing drivers ***.

A 4870 is not more powerful than a gtx 280, sorry.

Wow, something must have been seriously wrong with his PC. Just out of curiosity what clocks were the CPU's at? I find that statement very hard to believe.

Something was very very wrong with your setup if a 4870 beat a 280 in crysis...

Or more likely you benched the ATI card with FSAA off and the nVidia card with it on or something like that.

i went from a 4870X2 to the 280 too so keep the 280

a 4870 beats a 280 GTX in very, very few situations...and Crysis is certainly not one of them.

It is. There are a couple of games at which the 4870 does better though.
