GTX280 Over clocks advise please

my 24/7 clocks are 729 core, 1458 shader, 1260 memory (2520 effective). Usually bump the shader up for benchmarking but I get artefacts in some games after 20 mins or so at 1512 shader clock (CoD4/5, GTA IV to name a few). Bare in mind also I have the XT edition which is already overclocked out of the box, so standard models may not push as high.

;) 1.52v on the Q6600 tho, I've seen much lower but I added another fan to my CPU cooler so I have a push - pull going on. 42C idle, 85C~ on prime95. Not too bothered about abusing it, only paid £115 for it last year brand new b4 the price hikes!
 
Highest i ever tried on mine is,

core, 714
mem, 1251
shader, 1504

Card is a pre overclocked xfx gtx280 xt.

700 / 1200 / 1400 for me although I have not tried to push it further it will probably go a tad more.

My idle is 38c and under load is 55c tops.

This is with the Arctic Extreme GTX280 cooler but with original heatsink plate on rear of card.
 
Default clocks on my MSI are 700/1400/1150 so I had high hopes for a very high overclock but it turns out the card is clocked at the limit already, the core can't go higher at all, shader only to 1458 and memory only slightly so I run my card at 702/1458/1188

GTX280 ran pretty hot with stock cooler, around 80 - 85C load usually.

But with Arctic cooler around 60C load and mid 30C idle plus I run it at 756/1512/1350 now artifact free. :)

VM cooling's a bit crap though, fine in games and folding but fails furmark regardless of clockspeeds.

Temperature peaks at 85C depending on the game, if the temp. reaches ~85C the fanspeed jumps to 100% and the temperature stays at 85C
