GTX280 replacement code named GT212

Tbh will i think nvidia need a whole new architecture for there next round as it looks like ati is going in the right direction and nvidia are not especially when you look at how many transistors nvidia have on there cards compared with ati for the performance you get. Ati cards cost less to make and give around the same performance for less money nv have to get this one right.
 
Well, ATi had an advatage really because they worked with microsoft on the Xbox 360, so they would probably have had some microsoft fellers to hand. The 2900 series was derived from their Xbox 360 GPU, the 3800 series was a die shrink of that, and the 4800 was a refinement of the 3800 series, just a generational leap.
 
the ATI 4870x2 will still be way cheaper than the nvidia card come nect year...also keep in mind that
ati have the "little dragon" waiting in the wings.
 
Is the GTX280+ going to be DX 10.1, or is the 212 going to be the first nvidia 10.1 card?
