GTX295 Question

Currently have a 4870X2. Love the card, but have started playing Champions Online (and eventually Star Trek online) and the AA is all messed up. The only fix is to reduce the graphics options (which I won't do). This is an annoying time to upgrade since there is new tech on the horizon and the 4870X2 is great with all other games. However, I will should get quite a good price for it.

My question is, which is a good brand to get for a 295. Has been a while since I have a Nvidia card (7950GX2 was my last in Quad SLI)!

True. Basically I can't get AA without disabling a load of graphics options. Hopefully it gets fixed, but City of Heroes never did so I don't hold out much hope. Will wait and see I guess.

Some games do that :( It could also be the case if you got a GTX295, that you would have to lower the graphics to enable AA.

apart from:

280 SLI
285 SLI
275 SLI
4890 CF
280 TRISLI
285 TRISLI
275 TRISLI
260 TRISLI
4870X2 + 4870 1GB TRI CF
4850X2 CF

Not worth going from a 4870X2 to GTX295 just for one game but thats just my view & theirs no gurantee that the bug isnt a game issue, maybe someone with a GTX295 & Champions Online might comment?
He's right, a fix is better than spending a lot more on an inferior card.
Why is it inferior? the 4870X2 is certainly better value for money in terms of performance but hardly inferior, the GTX295 uses less electricity thats for sure. :)

/yawn

The GTX295 is a better card but the cost is around £60 more.

The 4870X2 is a better priced card & the performance isnt too far behind the GTX295 & in some cases beats it, google a few benchmarks, the proof is in the pudding.

Keep the 4870X2 by the time you sell it you wont get a great price GTX295 2nd hand is at least £260 & £350ish for a new one.
