GTX460 Audio over HDMI crashing problem

Hi guys,

Bit of a weird one. I've got a Palit 1GB GTX 460, connected to a Samsung 24" LED TV, and using audio over HDMI. For the most part this is fine, Windows audio is working correctly, and I can run source engine games fine too.

I have however got a problem with pretty much all Call of Duty games. right the way from Call of Duty 2 (not MW2), Call of Duty 4, Call of Duty: World at War, and also MW2. None of them will start, they all crash back to the desktop stating that they stopped responding.

If I disable HDMI audio they start correctly. If I connect a USB headset and set that as the default audio device, they start correctly (HDMI still enabled, but not set as default). I've also tried numerous ForceWare revisions, and all of them do the same thing.

Any ideas?

Have you changed the frequency/sample rate from the default of 16k/48k under the advanced properties for the HDMI sound device? I get the same problem with dead rising 2 if I change it from the default DVD quality. If you haven't changed it, then try changing it and see if that helps.
