Hi guys, what is the best safe speeds to overclock to on my 460?
At the moment i have it as follows:

Core Clock: 720mhz
Shader Clock: 1440mhz
Memory Clock: 1800mhz

I just want a little advice as this is my first time attempting to overclock a gpu, and also my first time using afterburner. Thanks guys.

800Mhz+ on the core, 2000+ on the memory.

Some cards will do 800 on the core with stock voltage, others will need a small bump. These are awesome cards for overclocking so don't be afraid to experiment.

Personally i would just stick the core voltage somewhere around 1.000-1.025v, set the core to 800Mhz, then keep increasing the core clock until you get errors then back off 10mhz or so.

1.025v is a perfectly safe voltage for any GTX460, and if you have a decent cooler then you can go to 1.050v-1.087v quite comfortably and set the fan profile slightly more aggressive than default.

If you are just looking for a nice performance boost and not so much worried about maxing your card out, then ~800Mhz is where you want to be imo.

You should get 800 on the core with stock volts with any luck, mine does 850 on stock with 2ghz mem.

Yup. 800Mhz on the core, 2000Mhz on memory and you have a nice overclock that requires no effort, no extra voltage, no messing with fan profiles and no negative effects on the cards power consumption.

:)

Hi just bumped it up to 800, 1600, 2000 and the temp reached 58degrees in heaven benchmark 2.1 and got an increase of 7.5fps to 38.4fps average does that sound about right?
