So my current setup is i5 760 CPU, GA-P55-USB3 Mobo, 8GB RAM, GTX 460 SuperOC and i play games at high settings in 1920x1080 res.

Is it a good time to upgrade the GPU as from what i have read over the last few days (done plenty of research)it seems my system could last another year or at a push 2 if i get a new GPU for upcoming games (CPU shouldnt hold it back..or much at worst) before i go for a full system upgrade.
All i do is play games and browse.

Though the only games in the near future i see myself buying are Rome 2 and BF4.

Or should i wait for the next gen GPUs to hit and see how the layout is?

Wait a bit. When the new nVidia GPUs arrive, there should be some good bargains on high end GTX 600 cards and it may push AMD to lower some of their prices further as well.

I'd normally say yes, because you can get a huge performance improvement over the GTX 460 these days. However with the new Nvidia cards on the horizon you'd probably be better off waiting.

Waiting for the next gen is good providing you don't mind spending a premium on being the first mouse getting the cheese. Nvidia's newest gen cards will also being the highest which will be a waste as that CPU will most definitely hold it back :D

Don't count on old cards to drop in price either, not by much at least (maybe 10-20 if you're lucky) bigger savings on 1 day only deals. As to your rig being CPU limited it boils down to what games you play.
BF3 for instance will be CPU limited on larger servers and GPU limited on smaller ones, BF4 will probably be the same! Rome2 should hopefully be multithreaded, so shouldn't be a problem like the older TWs

If you upgrade now you're not throwing money down the drain, you'll still get a noticeable improvement in graphic quality and overall smoothness, i say upgrade now.

I don't think it would be a waste of money if you upgraded now. But with Haswell and new gen nvidia cards so close I'd maybe use the time between now and release to save extra money and buy the new releases. Obviously it wont be cheap.
