Hi,

I have just purchased a 'B' grade EVGA GTX460 Superclocked (thanks OCers) to use until my 7950 is repaired.

Has anyone used one for BF3 @ 1080?

Hopefully I can get a bit of gaming in :)

Depends on whether it is actually the original GTX460 1GB with 256-bit memory, or the version 2 with only 192-bit memory. However...I think for gaming at 1920 res, you probably be expect to play on only high settings, and with only FXAA (but you could try pushing it for 2xMSAA) as well.

I just had a look at the superclocked version on the EVGA site and it suggests 192 bit.

I'll just be happy if the games playable though as I'm sure my wife is fed up of me sitting with her watching tv.

It will play just fine. You will need to turn settings down a little but that won't detract from how good the game looks.

Hi i have played BF3 since release on my GTX 460. i just clock it up to 825/1950 but have been runing it lately on 725hz core with no real ill effects.

I play 1080p and use most high ish settings and am okay. i5 here too.

Nice one thanks.

This superclocked version is up in the 800+ region (I think) so I guess I'm going to enjoy this considering the nice price too :)

Not had Nvidia since my GTX275

I used a 460 to play bf3 for the first 6 months and it was fine. Played with settings on high and had a solid 40-60 fps.

460 is a pretty good card and runs it very well. if you want higher detail then drop the res slightly.

even on lower settings, thje game still looks decent and will play well

Just looking forward to using my pc after two weeks of downtime.
The 460 is only temporary until I get my 7950 back from repair/replace (a month or so :/) but will be interested to see how it fairs :)

I can play it maxed out with 60fps on my 480 overclocked to 820, 2100, so you could probably play on mostly high settings, but perhaps lay off the AA and AF a little.

I just installed it lunchtime and had a quick blast.
Turned off AA etc and it's not bad.
I might drop a couple of settings to medium tonight though.

Dinky little card.
