Theres definitely some "confused" people posting in this thread? . . . half of your replies make no sense at all? . . . or at least do not address the issue of this £50 additional premium?

For anyone that wants a quieter and cooler card it's going to cost them an extra £36.99 for something like the Gelid Icy Vision. Then they have have to install it, one small slip with the screwdriver could end in warranty void

For just thirteen pounds extra they can purchase the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 470 SUPER OC which already has a quieter custom cooler installed, a healthy factory overclock out of the box, and none of the hassle of installing a third party cooler.

So I'm considering purchasing a GTX470 or even 2 of them for SLI ..

The first thing that strikes me is a GTX 470 SLI set-up sounds like a ridiculously OTT gaming set-up? . . . what games do you play and at what resolution?

Did you consider a GTX 460 per chance? . . . its getting good reviews and doesn't appear to be that much slower than a GTX 470? . . . it also uses less power and runs cooler . . . .

And then of course if your really serious about setting up an OTT *MONSTER* SLI gaming rig a pair of GTX 460's looks crazy!

If someone is really, really serious about their gaming and wanted to spend nearly twice as much as the "majority" of people spend on a GPU solution and had a SLI compatible motherboard then I think your not gonna get any better value than this for approx £290 smackeroonies! . . . of course there is also some OverClocking headroom if your feeling like even more FPS!!!!
