Hey guys,

So i have a asus refrence gtx480 with a geild icy vision rev2 cooler

Will it be worth picking up another card a icy vision cooler? Also if i do tjos should i upgrade my antec true power 750w psu and how long will both cards last at 1080p?

Im hoping to play generals 2 at max settings aswell as bf3, the witcher 2 batman arkam city etc..

I seem to like playing demanding games for the graphics lol

Cheers guys

I had a GTX480 SLI set up and it managed to play BF3 on Ultra very well, maybe a couple of occasions where the frames dropped. The only problem with my set up is i had the EVGA models, my temperatures was hitting 100 degrees very quickly even with the fan speed cranked up.
I was using a 850watt PSU at the same and never had any problems, but im not sure about your PSU.

Well my 480 with the icy vision cooler dosent go above 65 degrees in bf3 on ultra, also my boards two pci e slots are spaced 2 slots away from each other so the cards wont be really close so they should stay at reasonable temps, maybe if i add a fan to remove the hot air at the side?

I run 2 in SLi watercooled. Temps will get a bit sweaty on air, regardless of how good your case airflow is.

Powerwise, they destroy every game I throw at them on ultra settings hence why I haven't upgraded in ages :) (running Dell 2408WFP gaming at 1920 X 1200 BTW)

if you can handle the heat in SLi, you will struggle to find a game that'll break them yet :)

Tbh prob need 850 watts minimum, by the time you buy that and a 480 you could have sold the 480 and spent the approx amount of a psu and 480 (£200 ish?) and got a 670 which would be much more cool and power efficient and no possible sli issues.
