So i bought a PNY 550TI a few days after xmas, and scince then many of my games cannot for some reason play in 1920x1080, which my monitor is perfectly capable off. But my OS is running in 1920x1080 and games like Battlefield 3,STO,LOTRO can all play in 1920x1080. But the games of which won't run in 1920x1080 are Aion and a few CnC games and probably any other game i get from now onwards, which are capable of running at this resoulution.
When i got my graphics card, i did a goof, and installed the NVIDIA drivers when the intergrated where still on my machine, im not sure if this has anything to do with it, but scince then i have wiped my PC clean of all drivers and done a fresh install of the 285.62drivers, and still i can't play many of my games in 1920x1080. I asked a few other people and they said it was wierd and that i should do a clean windows install. However this didn't appear to be the GPU being faulty, it's something to do with windows not letting me play at 1920x1080 on games.

Here is a pic of avaliable resolution options in Aion, these are very similar to many other games i attempt to play - http://i.imgur.com/nFmb9.jpg

Click on the "Drivers & Software" tab.

Download and extract the files.

Right click on the monitor on Device Manager and select update driver.

Follow the process through: Select Browse Computer and point it towards the extracted files.

Should i uninstall the current driver and replace with the one you suggested?. It's getting to the point of just thinking about doing a clean windows install as it seems like my only option as I have tried so many different things. I've got Windows Home64bit OEM, I've used the key on this machine, could i use this again during the fresh install?

Thanks.

If you restart your PC the monitor should appear in the device manager so install the driver as per post #4.

Your PC may even ask for a driver straight after a restart so point it in the direction of the one you downloaded.

Yeah, I'm just wondering my monitor has a ratio of 4:3, is there a possibility that windows lets me run at 1920x1080 and games might not want to? In this case might this be my monitor? I've done a fresh install of windows and still can't run games at 1920x1080, it's getting to the point of where i don't want to use my PC cause of this lol.
