GTX560 or 6850 ???

The 6870 is almost the same price as the gtx560 HERE. And is in the same ball park as the 560ti. I'm not sure about the gtx560 but i'm assuming its slower then the 560ti after looking at the spec's, can someone else confirm.

Get the ATI 6870, it's slightly better than the 560 (Non-Ti) But if you can push an extra 10-15 quid get the 560Ti.

Thanks guys. Really does try grab more money out of your pocket this graphics game lol. For my mum and her dual core machine anyhow so over £135 starts getting too much to say she was looking at the just over £100 mark.

At the moment i'm thinking the GTX 560 as slicht overclock and the cooler looks good on that one. Please give further thoughts if needed before i buy though, and thanks up to now.

You could get the factory OC'ed MSI 6870? 6 quid more than the MSI 560 and a bit more powerful + overclocked;

YOUR BASKET
1 x MSI ATI Radeon HD 6870 OC 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £134.99
Total : £145.79 (includes shipping : £9.00).

I'd go for the 6870 myself. Comparable to the 560ti in some games at least, but still cheaper.

Go for the Gtx560Ti , then again i would say that, i have this card in SLi and its amazing, check my youtube account 'deviljamez' for some vids :)

What's your Mum using it for?

What resolution does she run?

How about a GTX 460 that should easily clock to 560 (non ti) speeds for less than £100? - link

Get a 460, your Core 2 Duo will not even be able to run THAT to its potential. Just get a cheap card, you do not need to spend more than a 100£, because by the time you upgrade your CPU/RAM/mobo the now 150£ card will be around 100£ and you will not want it anyway as then your shiny new CPU-RAM-Mobo will be bottlenecked by it.

Just get cheap 460, even second hand to make it cheaper still. Or gtx 260/280 - planty enough for C2D.
