Ive a 2500K on a sandy MB, witha 570DCII card
Skyrim on SSD, 16GB of memory

Skyrim on "default" settings (the one below ultra is selected)

Every few minutes it like pauses for a second or so and the sound has a wobbly.

I'm on the latest drivers, and using win7 ultimate

thoughts anyone?

Could be your sound card.

Sounds very much like issues I have had with Fallout 3/NV. Fallout 3 absolutely hates my Realtek. So much so that I had to use the GNR fix and convert all my sound files for the game into WAV and then apply a patch that then reads the wavs.

But yeah, their engines have Codec issues, addressing CPU core issues (it only uses two) and so on. It's taken me bloody weeks to get my last Fallout 3 install up to speed with all of the self fixes using the INI :(

I will try disabling the onboard and see if this fixes it - thanks for your reply
