GTX580 sli?

Hi,

I currently have one Zotac GTX580 running on my sandy bridge setup.
Would i benefit in getting a second GTX580 and running them in sli?

Or is it a waste on money?

Depends on the rest of your spec and the games you play.

What resolution do you game at and is your card a 1.5gb or 3gb version

Yeah its the 1.5gb zotac version

1920x1080 single monitor

Rest of my spec is

i7 2600k overclocked to 4.5ghz
Did have a asus p8p67 pro motherboard but it failed so i have upgraded to a Gigabyte g3 sniper 3 Z77
8Gb Geil valur plus ram

Sell the 580 and pick up a 670 or 770 for around 90 - 110

You'll get 45 for the gtx 580 making it a sweet move at 1080p

As above I recommend going 2nd hand 670 area try get a 4gb if possible

New games need at least 2-3GB of video memory. Even if you double your GPU compute power, you still have the same amount of video memory available. Not to mention potential SLI bugs.

Higher end AMD cards come with a bit more video memory. If you want to get something new, look out for a 7970 or 280/280x.
