Im looking to upgrade my GTX660

Im currently runnning a MSI GTX660 Twin Frozr when it was attached to my LG TV at 720 it ran great everything on ultra at excellent frame rates something roughly 60FPS in Hitman

Since upgrading to a new dell ultra sharp 24" monitor ive had to drop most of my gaming down to med/high to maintain a decent frame rate at 1920 x 1080

Ideally i want to upgrade my card so that i can run 1920 x 1080 on ultra with a nice smooth frame rate

Would any of these cards do the trick?

Another GTX660 in SLI

AMD 7950

GTX670

I have a budget of roughly £300 but cheaper is better

Other spec of my machine

i5 3570K
MSI Z77A G45 mobo

Another 660 will provide a very decent boost in speed providing you have an SLI capable mobo and a PSU that's up to the job.

A GTX670 or 7950 will both be quicker than your 660, the 7950 is probably the better value at the moment :)

You're only going to see the real benefit of a 7950 over the 660 of you intend to overclock it. At stock there isn't THAT much difference between the cards. 7950s comfortably reach 1100/1550 and at that point you're definitely going to notice a difference.

In short: if you aren't overclocking I would add another 660 but that will limit you into two mid range cards and mean that when they start to show their age you'll need to do a whole new upgrade as opposed to just buying another high end card like the 7950 which by the time you need to upgrade should be pretty cheap.

The only issue I have with the 660 ti is the memory bus of 192bit which is also why it may struggle sometimes at 1080p or higher.. This is the main advance as I see it with the 7950 is that it handle higher resolutions much better due to a higher memory bus. The gpu chip in the 660 ti is actually quiet powerful so its a bit sad that its hold back by a lackluster memory bus.
