Hi, is there any guides on what is recommended in terms of the nvidia control panel? Is it ok to leave all as default so they rely on the application settings?

Ill be turning off vsync and triple buffering ofc.

I plan to play The Divisions and CSGO.
 
Other than possibly setting 'Prefer maximum performance' you'll be fine leaving the rest at default or 'application controlled'.

If in game settings don't give you the option to turn of vsync then you'd want to do it through the control panel.
