has anyone got an estimate or an idea of when the GTX780 6gb cards will become available? not sure if its worth waiting or getting a 3gb as i have a 1440 monitor

I dont know when the 6gb card is out but I would recommend waiting to be honest. I am using a single 780 right now on a 1440P setup and I do get some serious frame rate drops in certain scenarios especially whilst playing BF4, admittedly with most things on ultra but still..

I'm now looking at getting a 2nd 780 but i'm a little apprehensive as, knowing my luck the 2nd I purchase a card something newer and better gets released that I wish I had bought instead....

Everyone has fps drops in BF4, it's coded by Swedish monkeys. You don't need more than 3GB for anything other than 4k res and similar multi-minitor resolutions.

You're still going to need more grunt than 780 SLI 6GB with high to max IQ, maxwell is what you should be waiting for then go for 4K.

Yep, Nothing, even in SLI or xfire has the grunt yet to max out games and hit 60 fps in 4k. All the VRAM in the world won't help. A 4k screen is several years away realistically for me I think, but I am pondering over the soon to release 3400 x 1400 super wides...

Nah,....780Ti will be fine for the time being. Everything doesn't need to be maxed any ways. 780Ti will do just fine:) No need to wait for maxwell. I'll switch gpu's once sometimes twice a year, so not worried:)

2 X 295X2 would...not sure how great scaling would be though!
