Ok, I've just installed a galax GTX970 EXOC black edition gpu in the system quoted below and I'm encountering a coupla issues.
Firstly the gigabyte mobo bootscreen hangs for 90 seconds and I'm totally unable to get into the bios screen, the delete key has no effect. It then goes to a black screen with white writing indicating Nvidia geforce gtx970 and a bios version number. Then windows starts to load, but takes about twice as long as it did before, but eventually loads up me desktop.
I haven't yet had the opportunity to try any games as I'm still wrestling with this situation. I'll post back once I've tried some graphics out.

Remove the GTX970 and connect the monitor to the motherboard to use the CPU's onboard GFX, then you will be able to access the BIOS, update it (and disable the boot logo so if it carries on hanging for 90 seconds you can see what it's doing).

Thanks for the info mate. Its deffo the 970 thats causing the problem as when I reinstal my 7950, it works a treat, nice fast boot into windows. I'll give that a go
