GTX980Ti Not always switching to DP

Hi all, I’m having a problem with my GTX980Ti and monitor (see sig)
It’s not always switching to display port on the monitor, at the moment it’s displaying Windows OK but wont show any of the Bios screen, sometimes it wont show Windows either. Going via HDMI works OK all the time.
My main PC uses on-board Intel GPU with DP and that has never had a problem using this monitor via DP.
Anyone got any ideas as it can get very frustrating sometimes.

Is the onboard intel GPU turned off in the BIOS and the GPU boot select to PCIEX if it has such an option ?

The mb in the gaming pc (see sig) doesn't have on-board gpu..
