The guardsman sounds like he will get a bit telling off and maybe just a fine and not get demoted. He shouldnt of lost his cool, he should be better than that. But that tourist was being an ass, and read how the dailymail made it sound like his life is in danger

The Guardsmen are supposed to ignore these things allthough they can walk over you if you get in the way. There is a legendary story of the guadsman who came to attention infront of a cheeky tourist and stamped his foot down onto the tourists hard enough to break bones!

The guard lost his cool over something VERY trivial and deserves a good dressing down. If the guy had been in his face and shouting abuse and actually touching the guard such as flicking his nose or something else daft then id be the first to say good on him, but in this case all the guy was doing was marching along side him.

These guards are well trained professionals and to act this way over a tourist marching along side him is very bad judgement indeed. To be honest i think the guard in question is probably having a bad time at home or something and was upto his limit anyway, this guy just pushed him over the breaking point.
