Guess the game

This has been playing on my mind for a couple of days now. I used to play it a few years ago i think on the PS2 (may have been the PS1 though). It was oriental style and you were a swordsman who also did magic. The whole combat system was quite involved and you had lots of special moves you could learn as you progressed. It was a very long game from what i remember. The main parts i can recall where wandering through an old city which lead on to a garden which was quite mazey and i think to get out you had to kill a large dragon. Thats about all i can remember lol. Anyone got any ideas?

Devil May Cry has a complex battle system.

Havent really played any of them to much so cant say if the settings right though!

I think the main story line was a plot amongst a few military type leaders although i'm quite hazy on that. Might have had gold or some reference to gold in the title (more than likely a red herring though).

Not Tenchu either.

I think it was a bit of a mix.

Am checking up on that now.

Sounds promising from the few reviews i've read but i need to have a longer look for screenies etc.
