What is it that you are shocked about?

I wish the level of detail was as good for me at such a long distance.

Conalls in AoC but it clearly isn't anywhere near the highest settings from that bad picture, even the view range looks like its set half way.

Obviously you've not played Lord Of The Rings or Eve. They are much better looking than AoC. I was very disappointed with AoC when I tried it. I expected it to look so much better than it did.

EVE?! Eve has nothing in it - a few ships, a station and a planet. 90% of it is backgrounds. It'd be like playing a traditional MMO looking at the sky most of the time.

Picture is definately AOC, shame it's so instanced, quite enjoyed it otherwise.

Well when i played it the graphics where a bit meh, but then you get a shot like this and it kinda shocks me the game can look that good.

That screenshot isn't even on full settings... so you must have had yours really low.

Yup, Age of Conan definately has some nice graphics. Unfortunately thats about all it had for me, which is great if I want to show a mate a techdemo, need something more than that for my games though.

I've played Eve, but not LOTR, AoC definitely looked better than Eve.
