Hello all :)

I would like to create another user account on my PC for friends, relatives etc. to use.

However I want this account to be extremely restricted.

They must NOT be able to:

1. Install or delete programs (no access to add-remove dialog)
2. View my files (Administrator)
3. Mess about with any folders/files on the computer using Windows Explorer (add, delete etc.)

But Im confused as to how to go about it. The Guest account is currently not activated. Should I just activate that or should I create a new "Limited" user account

Which is the more restrictive account? - Guest or Limited?

Any other tips on securing the computer with under a different login would be much appreciated.

Thanks very much :)

Guest is the more restricted of the two, however a Limited account will prevent them from installing software, viewing your files (providing you are using an NTFS partition and you have the permissions set accordingly- making your documents private will do this automatically) and they wont be able to modify the contents of C:\Windows or C:\Program Files. It depends on whether you want them all to share the one account (in which case, just turn the Guest account on) or whether you want them to have their own individual state and settings (in which case go for Limited accounts).

Thanx M0KUJ1N. I will just activate the Guest account then :)

Just one more question - is it easy to "delete" this account if I wanted to? Like is it easy to get rid of all the folders the Guest account will create? (under C:\Documents and Settings\Guest).

Thanx :)
