Guidance for New rig

Im looking to build a new rig

Ill be using i mainly for Gaming, I have a laptop for the word and net stuff.

Dont need a Keyboard, Mouse or OS (have win7 should I change?)

I play Elite Dangerous mostly with my Oculus Rift DK2, Witcher, and I will be getting into the FP shooters again.

I would prefer an I7 with fan. Would a 4790k be ok or should i go higher and a 980gtx....possible a ti version, dont require a massive case, just something that can keep things cool.

Do I need more than 8gb ram

I dont need a lots or storage space, got a NAS setup for that.

Monitor is required but cant cater much bigger than 24-25"

Budget, I was thinking of £1500 sh.

Help me Overclockers Kanobi your my only hope.

That cooler doesn't have the best build quality. Also the EVGA NEX is pretty rubbish. The G2/GS or SuperFlower Leadex are much better.
