hey guys, im in a bit of a dilema. after just browsin ocuk's shop (like ya do lol) i noticed the new dell widescreen tft's and i have to say, their drawing me in (the 2007 and 2407).

i've currently got 2 samsung 913N's. This was quite handy while i was at uni for my programing, web design and 3d modelling but ive just started my placement so dont really use both tft's like i used to. i tend to just stick MSN on the second tft which seems like a waste lol.

so my question. would it be worth while selling my 2 19inch tft's and goin for say a 2407 instead??

i figure the extra desktop space i had with my dual tft setup would still be there, or close to it, plus it means i dont have to mess about with switch boxes to switch between a second tft or my projector (only 1 g-card)

any help would be great :)

I did similar with my 2 Viewsonic VP171's

Hardly used the 2nd screen at all (mIRC only in effect) and playing games on only 1 screen seemed like a waste.

Jumped to a 2407 and not looked back - takes a little getting used to organising your windows on a single screen again but it is definately worth the hassle :)

Plus games (and X360 :p) look fab :D

lol nice :)

well thats what i'd use it for. 360 when i cant be arsed witht he pj.

do the 2405 and 2407 support picture in a picture (being lazy by not googling)

also, i'm gonna assume my aged AGP x800pro should be able to handle it ok, though any games i do play may struggle a bit (though this shouldnt be much of a problem as i only really play red alert 2 now days on the pc lol)

EDIT: it seems they do support PiP. cool :)

I think you answered your own question. If you don't need dualscreens then go for the 2407. I had the same dilema and just ordered two 2007FPs because dual screen better suits my needs.

i think i just needed convincing. the idea is great, but to actually do it is something else.

i mean when i get back to uni next year i guess a dual screen would be great but like i said before, maybe the extra wide screen are will be enough??

you think someone would like to swap their nice shiney 2405 or 2407 for 2 sammy 913N's? :D

Imo, dual screens is great for productivity - but as far as FPS go they're useless as you either only get one screen working, or the crosshair would be right in the middle of the bezel :)

I use dual screens at work and a single big screen at home.
