Guild Wars Factions!

Hi guys, so ive just gone and brought the £50 collectors edition of Guild Wars Factions! Ive never played it before so first thing first have i made a good choice :confused:

I'm a big fan of guildwars and my favorite class is the ritualist which you can only get if you buy factions, so good decision on that front. However in terms of storyline... if i'm going to be honest i wasnt a great fan of the storyline in factions, i would recommend nightfall above that tbh (can pick up the normal edition for around £20 if not less atm).

Anyway, its good, and you will enjoy it, just make sure you invest in Nightfall when you are done with factions as i imagine you will have more fun with that.

Most people prefer Prophesies and Nightfall, but Factions is decent enough, even if you get bored of the campaign Alliance Battles will keep you entertained

I have all the Guild Wars chapters here. Factions was my least favourite to be honest, but I did replay some of it month or so back and did enjoy it more than when I initially played it. The people were better doing the missions and such, less "n00bs" about who will only take lvl20 players in their party. So it's probably a good time to play through factions at the moment.

What class have you made?

It's not that it's a bad game tbh, it's just that the initial city section dragged on for too long, especially those stupidly long fedex quests. I tried to play through it 3 times (once with a new character and then with 2 of my Prophesies characters) which definitely didn't help, but I have to admit I didn't really get bored the first time through it, and when I left the city it got more varied and interesting.

I started a pvp character which started at lvl 20! Should i have done that for my first character or start a role playing one?

Well with a pvp character you wont be able to go through the story afaik. You will only be allowed to pvp with it.
You could keep the pvp one and start a pve (roleplaying) one.

Yes, you can pvp with a pve character. Just not the other way round

Just travel to the battle isles using the boat on the map if you want to pvp at any time

Also a good place to learn some PvP is in the low level arenas that are capped around lvl 10.
