Ive recently re-installed this to help a friend out on it, when i installed i got the updates etc, but in game when i go anyway i have to download more updates for that place and it totally slows my computer down like when i go back to desktop the monitor will flick off for a few seconds then on again like its changeing resulution and the screen stays black, ive left it for about 10mins and sometimes it comes back on, but i cant be bothered to wait 10mins everytime i want to go somewhere on the map.

Anyone have any ideas i thought it might have been my firewall somehow but ive turned that off and was still the same.

Open up your Guild Wars shortcut and add this at the end -image. Making sure to leave a space inbetween .exe and the -image switch.

Your shortcut should then look like this D:\Games\Guild Wars\Gw.exe -image

That's my Guild Wars' location, but you get the idea. Run it, let it download and uncompress all the files then when it's done remove the -image switch and start Guild Wars as normal. Now you won't have to load anything inbetween areas anymore.

It wont let me change it, it keeps saying "C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe -image" specifed in the target box is not valid etc

"C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -image

You had the " in the wrong place.
