Hey guys,

my friend bought this the other day and he says its a good game and i just wanted to know what you guys thought of it?

also , would it be worth paying the extra money every month to play world of warcraft - i dont really wanna play it unless its really worth it

ive never really played these sortsa games online befor - any ideas then ?

Both games have free trials, worth having a go if you're interested.

I started off with WoW, now moved onto GW and liking it a lot more for various reasons.

Basically my perspective is, if you want a casual game, play GW, if you want a game that'll reward hours/days/weeks/months/years worth of dedicated play then get WoW.

I could only play afew hours a week due to work and family, WoW just didn't offer enough whilst GW was perfect, and still is a year later.

Iv just started playing WoW with my brother and i have to say this game is really really good, I never really got into the MMORPG's before, I always used to play FPS's. If you have a couple of hours a day or so then i would say get wow because its such good fun :D

1 1/2 years of wow and ive never played a game I came to hated so much. Do yourself a favour, save £9 a month, play GW.

Play GW since it was released, got to lvl 20 with all my Chars, found it boring not a lot too it, even with the expansion packs.

Now play wow

Well, I absolutely loved it. I had the original campaign when it first released and probably played it for a year - there's so much to do and the engine is superb. If you get bored with PvE there's a huge competitive PvP element, and coming up with new character builds is all part of the fun.

I won't play it any more however, as it took up way too much time. I like games I can save and come back to now.

I only just started to play MMORPG's this month, i started off with Guildwars and thought it was good, but just not that interesting. Its a lot more confusing than wow aswell. imo if your looking for your first online rpg then it has to be wow, Iv never played a game before that has grabbed my attention right from the start and has done for the 25 hours iv been playing so far.. And the best thing is, Iv hardly even touched the surface of this game!

Edit: Altho i did play Guildwars by myself (which im not really used too, Im a big online fps fan u see) And iv been playing wow with my brother (hes a warrior im a healer) and its great fun :D

To be honest, that probaby made all the difference, these games are designed to be played with other people. Both have their merits but one of then doesn't cost around £100 per year :D

I've tried both and prefer WoW.

A lot of people will tell you things like "OMG WOW sucks u will h8 it and it will ruin your life!!11" but to be totally honest it's no more addictive than any other mmorpg. Just remember, if you start cancelling real life events to play a game, you have a problem :p

col thanx for the advice,

ihave resently been playing warcraft 3 at a gaming center with a few friends, i dont normaly do thins, was just coz friends were going. but anyway i really got in to warcraft 3 frozzen throne, the multi player modes where u get the hero - its just got that thing that pokemon had *GOOD GAME CRAP EVERYTHING ELSE*

the upgradeability and almost instant reward for your efforts, its just fun, i have friends that play it religiously so thats a +

ill probs get guild wars aswell closer to christmas - im not gonna get WoW just because of the ongoing fees (space games are an excption)

NEXT UP: counter-strike source *cross* warcraft -

build you own guns - upgrade you gear - bigger maps
- possible post apocaliptic back story - bases - missions very importent that

i know that it would work , just needs a compleat overhaul and a lot of time and care in the creation of it

MMOFPS

now thats an idea worth an award
