My dad was quite impressed with these when we saw them used in Malta and he was quite happy with the drink that came out.

Anyone used one? Any good?

Quite fancy getting him one but can't for the life of me find one that isn't a stupid price or where I need to buy 4 crates of the cans to get a surger unit free lol.

I think it's coming back as a few pubs I've been in recently have been using them.

I wonder if it's something to do with supply as all the brewing was brought back to Dublin a while ago.

Well I've found a couple of places locally I can get the cans from for an OK ish price.
Cant for the life of me find the surger unit without paying daft money :( lol

I had my first surger a few years ago and rated it but came home from hols to see the units expensive as in the cans tbh.

Shame theres not more demand

Surger is now aimed at small pubs, bars and restaurants who don't sell enough Guinness to justify draft. Hence the price jump.

I wouldn't be surprised if 2nd had units didn't come up on ebay.

Unfortunately people expect to be able to get Guinness everywhere, it's the only draft beer out there you can't easily substitute. Guinness know this and squeeze as much profit as they can.

EDIT: I've just had a look and there are a good few on ebay, both the small domestic unit and the bar one.

EDIT EDIT: Don't put a pint of Crabbies on one, you will end up making a mess.

A syringe will do the same thing just put it in the beer push down pull up push down and you will have a Guinness / John Smiths type head
