looks funky

Good news, DS owners! You too will soon be able to shred just like those kids with stay-at-home consoles -- sort of, at least. According to a first look over at Video Games Zone, the summer-bound Guitar Hero on Tour title can be really enjoyed with the aptly-named Guitar Grip. As you can see above, it is limited to just four buttons, but nevertheless, it allows users to hold the DS upright and tap the buttons of the peripheral -- which is suitably fitted into the GBA slot -- and strum the touchscreen to take care of the pickin'. Sure, it's a far cry from wielding a full-fledged axe, but it's not too shabby for shredding on the run. Check out a smorgasbord of pictures and a promo video in the read link below.

I thought they already released that. Wasn't it called Elite Beat Agents?

Actually, looking at the picture, that looks like it could be AWESOME.

its actually looks like a really good concept though im not too sure whether it would be that comfortable

I sold the project for the teaser site for the company I work for. Site is at http://www.guitarheroontour.com/

I guess I can say now that I played this about a month ago on a prototype version and it works really well :)

Teaser site goes live tomorrow (spent all day today sorting out the hosting!!!)

MP includes battle mode where you can set your opponents guitar on fire, and they have to blow the mic to put it out, things like that :)

I can just see fail, the whole experience of guitar hero is hearing awesome music really loud, a great peripheral that lets you showboat, and playing it multiplayer with a crowd of onlookers. This misses all those things.

Looks rubbish. Looks like just another add-on for the Wii.

Yeah, I know it's not a Wii, but it reminds me of the "gun" or the "rackets" or the "nunchuk" which they charge at ridiculous prices. Wii is probably more expensive than the other consoles at the end of the day.

Blahe.

Aren't they all unofficial add-ons? Minus the Nunchuk which comes with the Wii in the first place.

My thoughts exactly. I whack my sound right up. Very clever looking add on but for me its about loud.

this looks completely pointless to me.
Surely the reason GH is so addictive is because your playing it on actual guitars (ok not really but you get my meaning)

This looks far too complicated and in the video they look like they are trying too hard to concentrate on strumming the thing on the screen to actually enjoy it, then when the camera pans out to them dancing they are not even looking at the screen.

Call me pesimistic but I really cannot see this working. (Saying that probably means Nintendo will now go on and sell 3 million copies)

In terms of actually playing it. It does work, and is easy to pick up. Concentration certainly isn't a problem. I picked it up within 2 minutes of playing, although it is awkward at first.. Whether it will be successful is another question.
