Guitar Hero-type games for PC

Is there anything like this going besides rocksmith that I could plug my xbox GH controller into?

I found an open source Frets of Fire game, but it is crazy old and doesn't like W7 that much.

I know it's a bit old hat, but I like the idea of a bit of sofa jamming!

Guitar Hero III, World Tour and Aerosmith are all available for PC.

Not sure about PC but the Rock Band series on PS3 is great and they have a massive list of DLC songs/packs (probably over 2k songs?). Plus imo RB is much better (and I started off with GH).

I have GH3 on PC - was pretty good fun! Also pretty sure I have some modded version of fretsonfire (FoFiX maybe?) on there somewhere.

I'll have to check it when I get home - see if it still works

Yeah I was considering getting GH3, but was hoping something new was out there. Thanks for the replies anyway.

Frets on fire, has a huge and I mean huge amount of tracks available, the fix works well I play it on win 8 a lot without issues.

I've personally not tried it, but check out Phase Shift. Looks like a spiritual successor to Frets on Fire.

How did you get it running? I kept getting memory errors.

used to play frets on fire back in 2006-2007

looks like it has evolved/improved since then
