i want to buy guitar hero... i dont want drums or bass... or vocals.

what options do i have?

also can u choose what style guitar controller you get.

You can buy the pack with just the guitar attached. For example the metallica boxset has the guitar include as well as the Metallica game, you can get the standard boxset too.

In terms of style, it depends on the box set, the new ones however are all going to be the touch sensitive slide guitar.

Buy Rock Band 2 and get a Les Paul from ebay. Or wait it out for the RB:B instruments.

I prefer Guitar Hero 3 or World Tour guitars, and Rock Band 2 game-wise.

Rock Band 2 is the best game, and the X-Plorer guitar that came with GH2 is the best guitar, IMO of course.

The WT guitar is the worst out of the four I've used tbh.

I'd pay extra to have a Les Paul if I had to.

The only GH guitar that is better in my opinion is the original SG shape

Maybe mine's just a poor example, but it came with several loose screws inside (quality control much?), and the squeakiest strum and whammy bars I've ever heard. Like loud enough to really put you and anyone in the room off.

It just felt poor quality compared to anything else I've used.
