Can anyone recommend a decent guitar stand? Nothing too expensive. I've only got a peavey raptor but it's leaning against a wall at the mo. :(

Stagg do a cheaper version of the one above for around £10, they do the job well enough

ive got one of the stag ones, but the "soft rubber covering" they talk of is only a little ridge at the top of the frame at the top..

the body on my RG doesnt even reach that bit so its resting on the hard back of it. doesnt do any damage though :)

Much better than a flimsy stand (had enough of those topple and bend out of shape in my time) and make your guitars look cool as hell. Might have to ask mummy about the drilling ;)

Those hangers are great, but make sure they're properly attached to the wall with some long bolts. My RG has nearly pulled its hanger off the wall twice now...tbh, it was only by chance that I discovered it about to fall, if I'd left it, it would have come crashing down on top of me in the middle of the night (the hanger is above my bed...I wanted to make sure the guitar had something soft to land on if it fell :p).

So, they're great, but screw 'em into the wall properly! ;)

Be careful if you have a 'odd' shaped guitar, many hangers or stands wont hold your guitar snug.

My guitar can't be hung, in a way I would consider safe at least, and I have to put it very carefully in my stand to avoid it from falling over.

So perhaps try before you buy. If you have a Strat or Les Paul you shouldn't have a problem.
