guitars and dusters

Yes, I do this to clean mine, I have also cleaned the pickups this way but my friend told me that cleaning the pickups can cause damage. I don't know if this is true or not.

Don't use household polish on the pickups. Cleaning the body should be fine, although some cellulose finishes might melt :)

Don't put household furniture polish anywhere near the fretboard though.

Oh, and if you've got a '57 Strat, please don't polish it at all :)

The finish is tough enough on those Epiphones, polish should be no problem on the body, getting it on the fretboard though will dry out the wood, you can buy lemon based solution to clean rosewood fretboards.

avoid moisture on the pickups heh, just brush them out with a small shaving brush if needs be!

ive got 2 ruined Dimarzio Super distortions in one of my guitars because of the previous owner :(

Make sure you wipe down your strings and hardware after every time you've played to ensure your strings last as long as possible and you don't get a tarnished finish on your bridge etc.

Good advice, but who actually remembers to wipe down their guitar after *every* time they play it? :p

i remembered today after my band practise!

what should you wipe the strings down with? anything in particular?

i tried a duster before and i got loads of yellow fluff caught round the strings which wouldnt come off  so i had to get some new strings!

i used a towel today, but i'm sure there has to be a better way
