Gumtree etiquette

I finally decided to sell my ex’s engagement ring after having it sat in a drawer for years.

Got a quote from a couple of jewellers that are a pittance compared to what I originally paid for it so before biting the bullet I thought I’d try my luck and see if I could get a few hundred more on Gumtree.

Trouble is, I’ve had some requests from locals wanting to try it on? Completely understandable but I’m wary of strangers coming into the house and either wasting time or ‘oh, its stuck…’

Anyone have experience?

can’t you find out the size of the ring and then buy a same size cheap ring for them to try on.

Good idea but sadly I don’t think that’ll cut it

The ring size and specs are all pretty clear with a load of pictures.

I’m tempted to save myself the hassle and give in to the jewellers.
