Seriously does anyone use this site? Looks so CAGEY to me and I've never been able to sell anything from furniture, phones, electricals goods etc...

Absolutely flooded with scam artists! (Nigeria etc)

Lots of scams... but I have bought and sold stuff through there (bike, xbox, bookcase...).

Yes, be very careful of scams. Most common one is to send his courier with a cheque that is made out for more money than the item you sell and wanting the difference in cash back. There must be people falling for these scams otherwise surely they will give up.

I've used it to sell and buy locally, good stuff and it's free !
Good when you're looking for flat/house as well as there are a lot of private landlords advertising so it's always cheaper than through agency.

We got our pet cat from an advert on Gumtree !!

Her previous owners had to move home and they could not take her with them so they advertised for a home for her on Gumtree.

True this. Can't say I'd be willing to buy electronics off gumtree though. Even suspiciously cheap sealed box ones.
