Gun game for the PS3

i don't think ps1 games were regional, but you could do a google search. they were made on CD were they not? which led to a lot of piracy, etc.

im pretty sure most consoles could be made to play other regions games too (with some plug in cheat device) but you need to be wary of the fact that games may only work in PAL and US uses NTSC, therefore you need to make sure the CRT is capable of PAL, etc.

basically i suggest you read up on it all before purchasing

PS1 games were regional.

Back in the day you could get an action replay type cart to play imports. I'm sure there are numerous ways round this on PS1s now.

Yeah I actually went on a bit of a shooting bender this weekend ! Went out and bought another guncon for 2p. A move kit, the sharpshooter, the Sony pistol, house of the dead, time crisis razing storm and the shoot.

I guess you could say I like my shooting games

I thought I'd update this thread for the sake of others searching for something similar.

Anyway, I rec'd my 2nd Guncon, Time Crisis Razing Storm, my Move kit, along with a sharp shooter, and official playstation pistol, and House of the Dead.

OK, for anyone wanting a gun game experience, my recommendation is to completely avoid the move, and its guns. It's so un-accurate that they changed the way shooters are played. By keeping the cursor permanently on, and pretty much turning it into a machine gun. (in an attempt to hide its inaccuracies) So you're just moving a constant spray of bullets around the screen, never needing the sights. It is unable to aim and shoot off a shot, that made Point Blank so much fun. House of the dead allows you to turn off the cursor but its just unplayable as the accuracy is totally off.

HOWEVER, Time Crisis 4 and its mini games, which are available only in the Original Time Crisis 4 title, not the arcade ver of 4 of the Razing Storm title, is fun, and as accurate as the original point blank games. You will need those sensors, and the gun-con. The game itself is actually on par with good, probably in line with the original time crisis games. The mini games is where the quick reflex challenges lay. Similar to Point Blank, but just simple red, blue and grey targets to quickly acquire and shoot at. I'm running the guncon and its sensors off a Panasonic G10 Plasma, and its perfectly accurate. You'll need to use the sights and be quick off the draw and its surprising how slow you are at first compared to an hr or so of practice.

Anyway, I now have my gun fix on the PS3. Spent a little too much on junk trying to see what works and what doesn't.

Bottom line, the only thing that works is the original Time Crisis 4 title, and gun-con, the rest is an epic fail.. Unfortunately its unlikely any new title will work, because like Razing storm, it'll be developed with the move in mind, and even though the guncon works on Razing storm, its sights are not needed, due to the nature of the firing.

i already said all of this above ages ago, the new tech is terribly un-accurate and as a result gameplay is nothing like the old versions.

i don't know if they will be able to fix this, or whether the old tech may work with future tv technologies such as OLED, i doubt it, but something new may come out in 10-20 years time the old tech might work with.

in fact if they added more sensors it would be better. but i dont think theres any money in this market as the retail price for such a game would be incredibly high. imo 4 sensors one in each corner of the tv would probably be the cheapest way of producing accuracy, obviously 8 sensors would make it even better with them being placed in between the 4 corner ones. but this increases costs and therefore price of the product and wouldn't be viable. the wii uses 2 sensors and is terribly inaccurate so 4 is the number imo.

also how would you stick them all to the tv, it would make a terrible mess and ruin the looks of the tv, etc.

imo this genre is dead until they can make it work without sensors, all you should need is a tv, guns and a console, nothing else.
