How good do you think my xfx 7850 will do ?

depends if its overclocked. google tells me around 40'000 to 45'000 ppd from gpu alone. This is very respectable

best thing to do for points is when you want to switch folding of , let if finish the work unit first if possible , otherwise when you restart it'll give quite a lot of reduced points

Once i get some funds ill get a new psu. Then ill push the card as far as it will go
