Guru3D CPU cooler group test review with 3770K

It seems to be in line with what I would expect although my K2 was slightly better than the NH-D14.

This could be due to their weird fan placement on the former. In fact, they used the Deepcool Assassin whereas the K2 uses slightly better fans.

Very strange fan setup on the k2 there. Looks like they were using lp ram too so the fan should fit on the front ok. Ive got better results on mine by using a second wingboost 120 in the middle instead of the supplied 140mm fan.
 
I think they are using the Corsair Dominator stuff which is slightly higher profile hence the airflow from the back but it's strange having the 140mm like that. Our K2 fans use different bearings to the Deepcool fans they are using though.
 
Indeed. Lots of coolers missing

Have a few issues with the stats too:
*Sound level explanation says leaves rustling are 10dBA and barely audible, but a little father down it says 40dBA is silent????
*bedroom is 30dBA and living room is 40dBA... If I open a window in either I can hear leaves rustle on the trees at 10dBA???
*Sound levels idle and load are like 2dBA different across the board? My fans are more than 2dBA difference idle to full speed... on or off of coolers!

Exactly what i thought.. If your going to do a review like this, atleast make sure they are all from a simular price bracket, so we don't have to read between the lines. Just Tell us which is best and TAKE MY MONEYY!!
 
Nice to see my newly puchased Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO performs well . i'm not concerned with 100% load tests as that situation wont crop up

Yeah, if they can set up the D14 normally, there's no reason they can't with the K2.
I'll also second that 2 x WB120 works better on a K2 than stock :D

Without the other big players like Thermalright and Phanteks etc, this review is seriously lacking even before you take weird fan set ups into account...

Helios' sig is still the best and most comprehensive reference imo :)

I can add more results on there if people are interested but I don't think I'd have time for in-depth reviews.
 
You're one of the few reviewers I trust to do things fair and proper.
Whatever you can or want to add is fine with me. Hell, I'll even put a link to it in my sig if you want? :D
