Just got my Intel Sandybridge 2500k and asus p67 pro today from OCUK went to install cpu and thought socket retention lever was tight when opening. long story short build system but it would not post so i took off heatsink and MB pins where bent a lot of them and cpu seems damaged to :(. I have photos to prove cpu it was fitted correctly because pcb on chip is undamaged. strange thing was motherboard box was unsealed on arrival is this normally the case with OCUK?

Ps anyone know how to send photo to OCUK?

It seems to me the front screw on mb that holds retaing arm is screwed in to deep on mb this in-turn pushed cpu to-far into socket

Cpu was fitted correctly pcb on it is undamaged. I have built 5 rigs before and have changed numerous components as i am sure most on here have.

I even comented to my m8 who was here at the time that the retention arm seemed very tight while removing plastic cap on mb.

Screw in back of retention clip otherside of mb is a lot deeper than the rest so maybe something happened at fabrication...who knows

Arm was tight when unlocking clip to take plastic cover off and tight when cpu was seated i even double checked and reseated again because when arm was comin down it even felt tight.

A friend of mine was here as well at the time all i know is retention clip was the tightist i have come across OCUK can see that for themselves if they so wish.

there is no paste on cpu heatsink went on last when retention clip was on i will even take more pics with a macro now to prove u wrong dude.

Just took more pics will upload soon but looking at the socket frame i can see why board was damaged because when socket is locked there is only a quarter inch of space no where near enough room for a cpu to fit. I will be vindicated on this because OCUK will see the socket space between cpu and pins for themselves.
