I'm looking to get my driveway redone and currently doing a design. I've had one guy around here who said the downpipe going straight into the tarmac isn't ideal. He mentioned something about a gulley. I assume he would install a drain inlet hopper? One of these - https://www.wickes.co.uk/FloPlast-110mm-Square-Drain-Inlet-Hopper---Terracotta/p/432026

Is that correct? Or is it just called a gully?

I've asked them to install a ACO drain across the front of the garage. They could continue across and fit it under this drainpipe. My neighbour has this. Alternatively ACO drain up the pipe and then meet with the bottle gulley. Thanks guys I'll add to my design so they quote on that.
