Guy Martin's Proper Jobs

yes it's great - should be on a prime channel - fortunately he's a bit more humbled&affable than his usual series since he is learning unfamiliar skills from experts

What a strange thing to say. Why should it be on a Prime channel, Dave is easily accessible to anyone with an aerial, or access to the app, and no Prime membership is required.

Ehhh... without looking at the word "prime" as if amazon has a monopoly on it I read "prime" as meaning it deserves a channel with a bigger audience than "U & Dave"

It's somewhat a BBC channel but obviously not as prime as say BBC 1.

yes I meant c4/bbc - better than the new 'in the factory', & much of his previous stuff(spun out for multiple episodes, and more egotistical) and could have had a wider audience,
I didn't know dave had a replay app though.
Amazon prime+co would probably not have financed it, or made a woke mess like seaspiracy...

It held my attention for an hour.

I've never particularly found any of his stuff egotistical, always seems very down to earth but does seem to have a natural flair for a lot of the stuff he's done on shows in the past rather than thinking he's some sort of expert.

Not watched this one yet but will try and catch up on it this week.

the trawlermen life has been done many times before on TV but it was still quite entertaining with Martin
I just finished watching it and pretty sad really at what they earn for what they do, I have to admire the guy's but they must be bonkers.

Thought this was old shows that are now on Dave like most his other stuff after it's been on ch4 for a while.

well the boat captain/first-mate? talked about 6 figures /pa or 70K a bad year ... and guy would have got £400/day as a full deck-hand,
but the deceased colleagues showed the risk 300/day/ww.
wish I could afford halibut.

Enjoyed these, Firefighter was my favourite,, hopefully gets another season with some different jobs.
