Guys don't hate me for this!

They are literally only better due to the fact they are cheaper, that is it.

- Cheaper
- Have good exclusives
- Better to play non-fps games (pretty much all non-fps games are better with a controller)
- More of a casual style, i.e. more co-op games/functionality. Also you have the possibility to have the PS Move and the XBox Knect.
- Better for groups/parties (same for PS Move and Knect)

Not everyone is willing to pay over £500 for 60fps 1080p/4k. Also, I don't see much difference between mid graphics and high graphics. I prefer it to be smooth. Never found problems with PS3, except that they get the YLOD.

Are you just picking parts out you like from this thread?

He's asking if he should get a console, the ONLY reason he should get a console is if he can't afford a PC. If he can afford a PC there is literally no point in making this thread.

Can't afford a PC? Get a console.
Can afford a PC? Get a PC, because it's better.

Get your head out of your ass.

There are plenty of reasons to buy a console aside from not being able to afford a PC.

I'm still happy with my PS3... don't get to play games much these days and pretty much only bought a PS2 and later a PS3 for the GTA series of games... I think a console is absolutely fine if you're not a hardcore gamer - when I got the PS3 standalone blue ray players were similar in price... I'd got a blue ray player, something I could occasionally play games on and a media centre all in one - was perfect for sticking in the lounge. I'll probably get a PS4 when the next GTA comes out... or if they make substantial improvements to GTA V when they release it for the PS4... aside from that I've not bothered with PC games at all...

You do realise that you can get controllers for the PC right? Ones that are arguably better than console ones.

RTS games are actually unplayable with a controller! TTS as well for that matter.

Simply put there are many genres of games that are much easier to play with a mouse, or even require a mouse to play.

It shouldn't be a console vs PC issue though, why you can't play console games with a keyboard and mouse I don't know.

- Have good exclusives

Which applies to the PC also. Most RTS and TTS games are exclusive, probably for the above reason, they are unplayable with a controller.

"next gen" Console Devs don't even think it's possible to reach 30fps at 1080p and we're arguing what to go for? This console gen wont last nearly as long as the previous.

The idea that PC gaming is more expensive is rubbish. With consoles you pay for online as well as £50+ for each new title, buy 10 new titles that's £500. PC gaming has free online and I haven't even spent close to £200 on my Library of 80 games.

Call me when the PC gets Uncharted, The Last of Us, Killzone, Infamous, Beyond: Two Souls, God of War, Journey, Little Big Planet, Puppeteer, etc..

Call me when consoles get Goat Simulator.

OP already has an i7 920 and a 6850,hence why at most he would maybe need a new graphics card to outperform the ps4 and xbone.

I enjoy both, PC gamers be missin out on the exclusives

This.

That.

Yeah, I do find myself thinking 'how awesome would this game look on PC?', but you really do need to be incredibly anal to give that much of a toss tbh.

/Goess back to Horde 3.0 and FM4 with xbl buddies :p

What do you expect from both consoles when they are basically running APUs, both have 8 core AMD Jaguar which is a mobility chip.

95% of PS4 games have been 1080p30 at the very least, it's Xbox One that is struggling.

Last gen was even weaker compared to the PC spec at the time and they have lasted 8+ years.

With PS4 you could just pay for PS+ every year and just play the FREE games you get every month and still be cheaper than PC and not have to spend £300+ to upgrade graphics card in 5 years time.

PC gaming is not expensive unless you decide you have to have top of the range everything.

Factor in the cost of games and with Steam PC games are tons cheaper.

Don't forget you can pick up some bargain PC parts 2nd hand. That's personally what I've done for a while now.

An i5 2500k is still a good CPU, and a 7850 or nV equivalent can be had pretty cheap 2nd hand.

But if you want a PS4 get a PS4 :p I don't think the games library for next-gen consoles is all that special atm, but will improve with time.

I hardly see that as an argument in favour of consoles. You can easily buy a decent controller for a PC and play your non FPS games. ;)
That is true, but the fact that the PC is already more expensive, adding (unnecessary) expenses keeps tipping the price point in favour of the consoles.
Not true.

I can play with 3 people on one TV, share beers whilst lounging about.

Don't get me wrong, I can't see anything wrong with LAN, but its not as feasible 99.99% of the time. :)
This!

Read above.

About exclusives, it is true. There are good PC exclusives, but the likes of Grand Turismo and

Uncharted, The Last of Us, Killzone, Infamous, Beyond: Two Souls, God of War, Journey, Little Big Planet, Puppeteer

are great games. You can't say a console is useless.

You forgot GTA5.. :(

Yeah, there are some great games on the PS3, that's why I bought one, plus it's used as a bluray and other media player.

How does the remastered last of us look on the PS4? Looked pretty good on the PS3 considering the age of the hardware.
