Guys i have 1 quick question real quick :)

Right, i have a Arctic Freezer 7 pro heatsink, 2 HHDS and my cd drive taking power aswell, its will definatly been ok?

Does the 6870 have a power cable slot? And will that 6870 run in a dell 545?

Thanks in advance x

if your mobo is psi-e compatible and ur not over clocking that card will draw around 230 watts under heavy load, it will easily run that gfx card imho, unless your severely overclocking in other areas of ur system.

Only thing overclocked is my 8500gt.

System Model: Inspiron 545
BIOS: Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q8200 @ 2.33GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.3GHz
Memory: 3326MB RAM

CPU is NOT overclocked.

i think it would be okay but if your thinking of overclocking the cpu or gpu at all id get a 500w decent make psu, if you are happy to run stock cpu and gpu then you should be fine as you are. like i say if you do plan on overclocking get a new psu, or you will run the risk of bricking your entire system as that gfx card will push your psu to its safe limits without overclocking. and if you fry ur psu youll end up bricking your pc.

Total power consumption under full torture should be 350W but I prefer to have a little more overhead than just 100W

Ohhhh btw I've just purchased the last 6870... Thanks mate for the brilliant find

You bought the last one from OCers shop? Well do you think i should buy it then? :/

Was pulling your leg :p

Anyway I suggest you get a tape measure out and find out how much space you have free in your dell and compare to the length of the card

And issues like this

Oh ****, do i need a psu with 2 pci connectors for this card?

:D

Do you own that Cooler Master PSU yet? The 6870 should run fine on it.

However I would feel more comfortable with you running the 6870 with this PSU: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=ca-055-oc&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=

as for running bf3 on high: http://media.bestofmicro.com/y/n/313583/original/amd high 1920.png

would be fine but once you add the anti aliasing the fps will drop considerably. here's a link to the bf3 gpu review: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/battlefield-3-graphics-performance,3063-10.html

EDIT: Yes, the 6870 needs two 6 pin connections, while the 6850 only needs one.

I already ordered the coolermaster 450w mate, its estimated delivery is tomorrow :/ but the 6870 has 2 PCI-E power connector slots, and the coolermaster psu only has 1 pci-e power connector.

20+4 Pin MB x 1
4+4 Pin CPU 12V x 1
6 Pin PCI Express x 1
SATA x 5
4 Pin Peripherial x 3
4 Pin Floppy x 1

Thats what connectors my new psu has. You sure there is enough 6 pin connectors for the 6870?
