I have this 2-pin to 3-pin adapter from Aladdin's Cave shop. It says 1 Amp fuse with 250v. It also says "shaver only".

I am using it on a device that has a 2-pin plug that says 16A with 250v.

Is it OK to go ahead with this as i cannot be bothered to walk back into town?

Thanks!

The shaver adaptor will not work, as it's designed for a low wattage device, and only fitted with a 1amp fuse.

This assumes the device actually uses anything like that 16amp (what does the device itself say, a UK plug is almost always rated at 13amp for the actual plug. even if the fuse fitted is only 1amp, and the wiring suitable for 3amp).

Ah ok so i am looking for an adapter that has 13 amps and 250v?

Edit:

Device power requirements are:

power requirement 28W

power output 10W RMS into 4

This ?

28W is only .12A so the 1A fuse will suffice.

Edit: Is that the rating on the device itself? Is there a transformer which plugs into the wall or is it just a standard three pin plug. If it is a transformer then what are the ratings on it?

It's a 2 pin plug for my 3 pin plug hole. It needs to be an earthed adapter too and i don't seem to have one that has the earth strips on it.

Picture the input, is a two prong type, or a rounded two prong thing with metal strips for adaptive earthing?

Round two pronged with metal strips on either side.
