I have a HIS 6950 1GB (faulty I believe) I tried to RMA it with overclockers they returned it saying not faulty which made me rather suspicious.

I have some videos to show you guys the problems i've had with this card.

I rang overclockers to say please refund my money and they said to me go via HIS I did and they're expecting to pay 64 pounds for the RMA process?

What to do.

These are the youtube vids http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6BYjOROkEqE

you been overclocking those cards? also have you tried them with another system/power supply or cleaned your system of all gfx drviers/installed new drivers since i noticed you had a similar problem fo 3 months. looking at your you tube vids.

It does look more like a heat/power issue than a Physical fault in my experience.

You tried running everything at stock ? Other games still exhibit issues?

Tried loads of drivers? another PSU ?

Its all a pain in the arse to do but its got to be done.

You must have already done it but run some Benchmarking software to replicate the problems.

yeah i have a sneaky feeling its something to do with your psu or the drivers, i dont believe overclockers would say its working when it isnt, but then ive seen instance or cards working in the test environmant and not working on several other systems. so id try the psu or driver route first then try in another system if possible.

Drivers have been wiped and reinstalled various times, it's never been overclocked always been at stock, and I haven't tried it in another system no. I thought it was heat related also but it never really topped 75 degrees and even when I changed the preset fan speed to 100 percent it was 65 degrees and it still done it.

Could possibly be my PSU maybe but it only does this one a fortnight if not more, something else that happens is sometimes my computer can freeze and say video drivers crashed but it's down this since April 2011

Anyone can shed some more light on this ?

Have you done an OS re install?

I say that looks like a PSU or OC issue. So nothing new and valuable there.

Can you under clock the card to check behaviour.
Can you move the card to a different lane?
Can you strip back the machine, remove additional cards (tv, sound)?

Well, are you having problem with other games as well? Cause I think you probably would need more examples to support your case. Also, as others have already point out...it could well be just your card doesn't like the other hardware of your PC, or may be simple case of bad driver (have you tried other drivers versions?)...so you really should try to somehow test it on a different PC as the first thing to see if it reproduce the same fault, before proceeding any further on trying to to return/RMA it.

As for overclockers point your to HIS...I don't know why they would do that, considering they handle the warranty of HIS cards directly (if I'm not mistaken)...but probably it is because they tested the card and can't find any fault, so they are not going RMA a perfectly working card (as far as they are concerned) to HIS paying out of their own pocket in your stead. They probably just suggested you to approach HIS directly to see if they would replace your card anyway, regardless of what they might or might not find. Try to put yourself in overclocker's shoes...if you were retailer selling hardware, would you refund money to customer for a hardware which you tested and found to be in working order?

I by no mean try to upset you in anyway, but testing the card on a different PC should be the first thing you should do right now, before doing anything else...(or if you haven't tried different version drivers- older ones etc, do that first). Also, if changing drivers doesn't help, you could try install Windows again...not over-writing existing one, but a fresh one on a different directory and then test the game there to see if the same problem happens as well.

It has happened on various games such as battlefield 3, league of legends and world of Warcraft it hasn't done it majorly like the YouTube videos for around a month, but you do get some purple pulses on the screen which I believe is artifacting. And Is there any software to test a PSU if not corsair can replace it if it's faulty 'life time warranty'. Also I've tried fresh installs of windows 7 didn't seem to cure it

I assume You have not tried MSI Afterburner ?

Try Underclocking then overvolting slightly

Your in the "beginners" trap, sending something back that You THINK is faulty !

Prove 100% it is the Card first !

If you start tampering with volts and clocks you risk voiding your warranty.

The problem may not be anyone component and it could be a combination of your video card and motherboard for example. The only way you can rule out your video card is if you test the video card on another system and see the results with your own eyes, its the only way I'm afraid.

HIS are taking the mickey asking for £64 to RMA your card, you have to pay to post it but that's it. Email them you might speak to someone else who gives you another answer.

Nope unfortunately not I thought Corsair were reliable :(. and my Brother's computer is right next to me but he'll have to tell me what is happening and like I said it could take a month to show any artifacting.

"It could take a month" it could take day, but it concerns me something is wrong with my pc and I want it fixed I'm sure if you had a problem with your PC you'd want it fixed so............"Go back to bed !"
