gym and warts

There are probably more treatments for warts (verruccae...same thing) than any other medical condition. Warts are caused by the human papilloma virus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wart). In my professional career I probably treated several thousand over a 40 year span.

I have used modalities ranging from surgery under anaesthetic to buying them from the patient for 10p! I have had success with each treatment and failures with same treatment on a different patient.

Until the immune relationship between the HP virus and its human host is better understood we will continue to "suffer" from warts in all their different guises.

The current campaign to immunize young girls against HPV to prevent cervical cancer may yield some interesting statistical results with regards to the prevalence of warts in the general population.

I had a wart on my thumb..

It was weird as 4 of my friends also got them about the same time in the same place :s

I used wartner.. It was massive and lasted about 6 months in total. It went and had pretty much completly vanished, just a small bump in the skin remained.. Then came back and grew massive again so when it got smaller I completly ripped it open and dug the little black dot I found in the centre of it out.. It didn't come back after that :D

Regardless, I'm right in that it WAS liquid nitrogen. One of these

Edit: Ok perhaps the gas itself is pressurised which creates the 'jet'

That's a bog-standard vacuum flask with a nozzle on the top. You fill the flask from a big Dewer, then screw the top on. As someone else pointed out here, once the nitrogen starts to warm up, it tends to expand, and thus pressurise the container. But the pressure concerned is probably lower than the average aerosol. But at the time you fill the flask, the nitrogen is not under pressure.
