Hi,

Starting a new job back in London in Jan and would like to know if any of you could recommend a gym. My only requirement is that I'm able to get value for money.

Location: London, London Bridge area (south of the river)

Thanks

What sort of price range are you looking at? Most central London gyms seem to be around the £60 and upwards per month sort of price range.

To be honest I dont want to pay anymore than £10 - £20. However, there is no chance of finding a place that cheap.

I could just about deal within handing over £40 per month. Wouldn't want to (but would if I have to) pay much more than that.

Which one you go to?

I used to go Pumps gym. Now going to that crap hole that is NRG although my membership ends on Friday. So thinking about signing up to fitness4less to see me through December.

Everyone Active, as I use the pool as well as the gym. Convenient location for me as I can walk/run there too.

thegymgroup is reasonable.. not that good equipment wise if you want to do some proper lifting but being a 24/7 gym you can just go when ever.. I'd say 9pm-4am is quiet and reasonable.. which is when I go.

It might be worth looking into Better Gyms, there's one called the Colombo Centre which is pretty close to Southwark station and not all that far from London Bridge. You can get memberships starting from £20 and for a smallish fee you can use other gyms in the chain - I think they tend to be affiliates so there may be variations between the facilities and charges.

It does depend what you want from a gym, I've not been to the Colombo Centre but I've been to a couple of others in the chain and they seemed fairly basic but reasonable enough.
